Hai to Gensou no Grimgar 01-05

Holy... I missed another jewel this season.
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. I saw it on National Anime and didn't even realize it was airing this season, and boy do I regret it.

The anime starts with fantasy setting, introducing main characters battling goblins.

It was obvious that they are newbies by seeing how they battle. Only the healer seems to know what to do.

I thought the story was straight on fantasy setting but it start throwing hints that it was more than that.

It does show that the people are from modern world and had forgotten about it.

The story setting itself got me hooked.

However it wasn't just all story.

The animation did show bit of fan service (Mandatory by todays standard.)

However unlike others, it does not interfere with story and animation.

The anime itself is very well animated and directed.  Like this picture, the girl is licking her finger, small animation like this that might be unnecessary, but its well animated and showed us what her personality is like.

The story also seems to rely more on realism than the happy go lucky fairy tale style like others do. It does get dark

Like the first battle where they have kill, it showed how it had effected them similar, but in different way. Such a nice way of directing, pulling on a very emotion of human. It was done such amazing way.

Also, they used this physical media style art and it was used very well/

The first few episode does depend on character introduction and character development. While it would be considered slow, but it was not that slow to bore you and it was directed so well, that it really got you going. I felt like I knew those characters, and I understood their pain.

For example, when one of their team mates die, I felt the sadness, and confusion as to what would they do next.
Anime like this is such rarity these days.

If you are bored, I highly recommend watching this. For now I can't wait to see what happens so I'm going to read the novel.
