Here is Haruna Sairenji. A GK kit ordered from E2046.
I am really loving these ToLoveRu kits.
This kit was little hard though. Her underwear is a separate piece and needs to be heated for it to stretch enough to fit. Mine broke so I have to glue it together re-made the part where her right-hand pulls, and paint it together with her hip section. It worked out okay though.
I used cheap acrylic paint from Walmart. It was about 50 cent for a bottle. While it does not go smooth like my favorite Vallejo paint, it still goes on well. The paint was thinned with water and was airbrushed on. I also brushed on finer details like creases on her corset. The Walmart paint does brush well, but they need to be thinned down really well and laid it down with layers. Many layers than what Vallejo can do. Brushing took a lot longer than I would do with Vallejo.
I took a different approach with painting skin. I used many different layers of thinned paints of a different hue. A different mix of White, Red, Brown was used for different shade. few dots and scratches and it gave her more realistic skin tone.
Unfortunately, I should have stopped earlier during my paint procedure. I put more and more details and it gave her a dirty look. I think it still came out okay. It has all the imperfections of skin to make it look real.
I still need to work on the eyes.
Please enjoy the gallery.
Here are the paints I used. Well, there should be a black in there, but I used it all up and threw it away before I can take a picture. I used cheap paints, however, I did not cheap out on primer and clear coat. A good primer is needed to lay out the paint well and a good clear coat is needed to protect the paint as they peel off easily. Thankfully I had plenty of good primer and clearcoat.
To paint cheaply, you can use an automotive primer.
The Vallejo clearcoat, which I used, is reasonably priced. Well, sometimes Amazon has it for a little too much. The one I used was Polyurethane version. It sprays well and once dried it is very strong. It dries fast if need to be handled, however if you want to brush on it, it needs to be dried for at least half a day.
