HG R-GYAGYA

Saw this at the local hobby shop and had to get it. The box art drew me in. It looks awesome. Similar to knights in shining armor style. I like it.

The parts are typical Bandai. Well detailed and small end point to cut, so it is easy to cut without damaging the detail.

Although the gold part is pathetic.

The effect parts however were plentiful and no faults were found.
It does have small sticker. very simple.
Oh and the parts are big. really big.
Well... I got everything laied out!
 Got my Gundam strong coffee.
And start my build.

The build was easy. Took about an hour and 45 minutes. Thats without stickers however I tends to build slow and cut and sand all sprue mark so it took longer than most people would.

The suit is well.. good looking. That gold part however really ruins it. Good news is most people have painted the gold part from the sprue with good results. Just the gold part.

What I really like is that giant weapon. Very Knight-ish.
It also got this giant gattling gun. Its bit lacking in detail, but oh well. bit of drill, knife and mil-putty I can make that look better.

The main part of this suit is the shields.

With the beam effect part it looks gorgeous.

 And it has TWO!

While the shields are attached to the shoulder part it can also be attached to the hand.

Also its sword in its scabbard. No the glow effect is from flash.

Its not without its fault thought. The joints from polycap is weak due to its weight. I found the shoulder keeps popping out due to the weight, and the knee joint keep bending. It was annoying.

Well. those things can be fixed by either gluing or painting. So I grabbed my spraygun and started.

I used some leftover paint, but I think it came out good. In fact it came out great.

I also did some weathering including filtering. And that gold part! Oh man it looks gorgeous.

And it looks menacing. That sticker mono-eye kind of ruins it thought. I need to find some way around that.

And here are some more pictures, just to show how gorgeous this suit is.

Well. I highly recommend this kit, but expect to work around weak joints and weird gold color. I recommend painting at least the gold part.
