HG MSA-005 Methuss

I am not sure what it is but something about this mobile suit grabbed my attention. Its ugly and useless but to me it looks cool. I bought this kit years ago and halfway into build I put it in the box and forgot about it. So here it is. after 2 years I finally finished it.

This is an old kit, released back in 2006. It is evident from this box art. Old school, but lovely.

Bottom of the box had this art. I never knew this but its very cool. Too bad its not in color.

Now for the kit. The build itself was not bad. It was easy old design is evident. It did have enough details to make it look good.

The yellow was airbrushed and rest is painted with brush. It is slightly weathered with Tamiya Weathering master. It took a bit of getting used to but its great stuff for weekend project.

I was but surprised at arm articulation. this old kit usually doesn't do this.

Speaking of arm, it has a build in gun. very cool. However I was disappointed because it only has 2 gun on hand and 2 beam saber. Nothing else. But than again I was not expecting much

Here are few more pictures.

I tried to get better picture of its torso. I likes its design. open and looks like machine.

And here is its back.

Oh did I mention it transforms? Here it is. With its supplied landing gear on.

Usually the transformed mobile suit usually turns me off but this one looks good.  Also there was no parts swap. I just had to take the hands off.

There was also some extra parts for this big gun. I guess it comes with Hyaku Shiki kit. I don't have it so mine is just stored away for now.

Also this kit is big. larger than average. Here is it next to Nemo. Nemo is decent sized kit, but this thing dwarfs it.

This kit does include a slot for Bandai stand. But it is sturdy enough to stand on its own. Right now it will just sit on one of my shelf.

I finished this kit as weekend project. little bit of painting, but nothing much. However judging by how the kit is, This would be great way to modify and make custom kit. Bit of custom panel lines and extra parts with pla plating, this kit would be great. Maybe I'll try someday, but for now I am satisfied with this.
