Diver Nami is another mecha girl series made by Bandai. This kit marks the new way the kit is made by Bandai, and unlike the other kits from the Bandai like Super Fumina, this one isn't that bad. In fact, it's great.
Here is the box art and it shows the first changes in this kit. The kit is now part of the Figure-Rise Standard series, which makes character figure kits by Bandai.
This kit also uses alot of foil stickers for color seperation.
Thankfully this kit includes a stand which is clear red.
Here is a built kit with sticker applied. With it's smaller size, it looks great.
The proportion is still off a little, but it's still better than the previous kits.
One of the downsides is the eye sticker. Also, this face does not have something for the eyebrow. it's just an empty hole. I wish they would have done a better job for this face. A water transfer would have been better.
Another downside I noticed was this part. It's hip. If its just standing its fine, however, once they bent it over, its got this weird shape. Kotobukiya is better in this department.
Still the leg bends really well.
Here are couple of pictures with its weapons. I really dig the airbrush and the nipper.
I painted the kit using the Vallejo paints. Because it is acrylic paint, few poses scaped the paint off, but overall it came out well.
Bandai's mecha girl line is still got a long way to go from kits from Kotobukiya, however, for the price this kit is recommended. The size of the kit was brought down to other mecha girl series and with its 3mm hold placed all over, you can do a lot of customization.
