RGM-079SC GM Sniper Custom

This kit is RGM-79SC GM Sniper Custom from Bandai

This is a master grade kit from Bandai. It has been a while since I built a master grade kit and like any other kits from Bandai, I really enjoyed the build.

I picked this kit up because I really enjoy building the grunt suit from Gundam. I remember how great the GM Sniper kit was so I picked this up. Unlike the other GM Sniper kit, this model is based on MSV, and because of that, it has this unique 80's retro look that I really like. Interesting fact about this mobile suit... It is not a sniper. It is more of a designated marksman.

Starting from the box art... like any other master grade kit, it has a great box art.

This kit comes with a sheet of a sticker, dry transfer, and a set of foil sticker. It has been a while since I saw a dry transfer.

Here is the picture of a manual.

The kit was very easy to build. The parts are well laid out, and they fit well without using any glues or fillers. The nub mark was very small, and they were easy to sand it out. In fact, the whole kit only needed a bit of sanding and it looked clean, built out of the box.

Here are some pictures of the kit built without any painting.

I applied some clear gloss coat and the stickers over it. I really hate the fact that they used stickers because it leaves very bad marking. I wish they had used all dry transfer or water slide decals.

Here is the finished kit. The kit was painted using Tamiya paint, and some chipping effect was applied using Vallejo paints. most of the weathered look such as streaks and rust was done using oil paint and Tamiya Weather Master.

Please enjoy the gallery.
