The ascendance of a bookworm is one of the anime I was looking forward to this season next to Didn't I say to make my abilities average. I watched the first episode and it was a total let down.
The story is about a girl named Motosu Urano who is a bookworm. She died buried in a book and her dying wish was to continue reading books. She is reborn as a girl named Myne is a medieval world as a sick girl who uses her modern knowledge to live a better life as a common citizen.
I started to read the book about a year ago when I purchased an English translated light novel about a year ago and I enjoyed it the book. It was funny how the typical Millenial got 'woke' and now she has to do something.
This anime was bland. The animation was bland, music was bland. Voice acting was Meh.
Well, at least Myne from the inner dialogue was cute. That's about it.
I only watched the first episode. Let's see how it goes, but the first episode really crushed me.
