Megami Device Chaos & Pretty Little Red

Megami Device Chaos and Pretty line is not very popular. Probably because compared to the Asra line, it is a bit bland. I did build them and I didn't like them much due to bland look and the use of stickers.

Kotobukiya released another version of it, with different armor to create a completely different look. Here is the Little Red version.

It looks great, but despite their effort, I didn't like it much.

Starting from the box art.

Wow. Number 17 already. Anyway, it's the standard Megami Device affair. Beautiful picture of the character on the front.

The instruction manual is a sample. beautiful picture with a black background, really pops out. The manual itself is high quality, with clear and well laid out pictures that are easy to read.

There are a lot of pre-built pictures with few poses as well, showing what this kit can do.

Last page shoes sticker placement including color correction stickers.

There are a lot of parts in this kit, well worth the price.

Here are the stickers that are included in this kit. A sheet of water slide decal with eyes, and blush. A foil sticker for color correction on her skirt. This to me was a bit disappointment but later, I found out that its not that bad.

As usual, this kit includes pre-painted parts and here they are. Three painted faces are very vibrant and expressive. They did not disappoint.

Of course, there were several hands with a rubber-like material. There were a few hands with molded connectors, designed so that they can handle the weight of the weapon the kit is supposed to hold. Unfortunately, this kit does not have any cool weapons.

One part that confused me was this. They are polycaps. I don't remember seeing Kotobukiya using polycaps, not that I built many of them, but it was a surprise. I did worry about it though.

The skin part was well molded and color was great.

The hair was different than usual. It was molded well but is designed in a simple and angular way. Different but great never the less.

The red parts in this kit, are very vibrant.

This lines pastel-like style continues though as the purple, which are few, is great as well.

This kit also has a simple basic stand with Megami Device logo. It's usable, but honestly it's not that great.

Building the kit was decent. There were a few small parts but nothing hard. Parts were well laid out and easy to take out. The plastic was high quality and they were easy to clean. All parts fit without any issues. Thanks to well-laid-out instruction, assembly was easy as well. There were a lot of parts, and some parts need to be assembled multiple times, which made me feel like a chore, but still it was fun in the end.

Here are the pictures of the out-of-the-box build, without the sticker.

One of the things I noticed with this kit is that there were some new parts, like her knee cap, but her body and thing are still using the original part from Chaos & Pretty line, and not the new body parts, which are much better. So it had its usual issues, such as her shoulder popping out. THe proportion on the new body is mush better as well. This old body has a really long body. You can push up the shoulder a bit to make it look better, but its still looks like she has a long torso.

Here are the pictures of the armored version.

There are two ways, one with a hoodie, and one with wolf.

Not sure what I like more. It looks more like someone threw a bunch of accessories on the Chaos & Pretty and call it a day.

Anyways that was the out-of-the-box build.

For the build, I kept it simple. For the skin, I shaded it using Lascivus paint. I applied the color correction sticker and threw a flat top coat all over.

That's it, and here is how it looks.

The subtle shading really brought out the skin, and the flat coat really made the kit look better. To make the kit look complete with simple work really speaks to how well Kotobukiya designed this.

Here are the pictures of the armored version.

The color correction sticker worked well with a flat top coat. It looks much more natural.

I like the kit. The build was simple enough and it was enjoyable. The girl is cute and works well. That being said, it's nothing more than old Chaos & Pretty with accessories. I would recommend it only to people who like her looks of her.
