I didn't think much of this kit, because when I saw the pictures online, I saw a very bulky mobile suit that doesn't really look great. However I did build the first one and loved it so decide to bought the second one. It just sat on my pile for a while until I got bored.
Boy... do I regret it.
This kit... looks gorgeous once fully built.
Let's start with the box. Once again beautiful artwork in a standard MG box.
Manual like other bandai stuff was easy to read.
Like the first Gundam X it came with this effect part...
That goes behind this. It does make a beautiful and simple effect.
However this gold part like any other standard gold part from any other Bandai kit is horrible. I recommend at least getting these painted if you are building out of box.
The build itself was simple, so I'll just go straight into the finished non painted product.
These pictures doesn't really do justice. It really looks great in real lift and proportion does seem off but in right angle it seems just right.
That yellow did get in my nerve. It really didn't go well with the Dark Blue.
Here is my favorite gimmick.
And here is with its double gun deployed. I didn't add effect part because I was going to paint it.
The kit does come with a shield and a rifle. But its dwarfed by its main cannons so I threw it aside.
It also has 2 beam sabers... Nothing fancy
Buts its beam is not usual clear stick. Its an effect part that looks great.
It does come with 2 figure. If that is your thing. I hate painting it so I threw it away.
And here it is all painted. I used mix of Tamiya and Vallejo Air paints. I didn't bother with weathering, I just did panel lines and I left it at that. It is a specialty suit and it didn't felt like all rusted up.
Here is picture with its Satellite Cannon deployed. For some reason, While it does look great, I am not fond of it.
That sticker is really horrible. They should just put water slides on all MG kits.
Finally here is next to the original Gundam X. Similar frame and idea but vastly different.
I was really impressed with this kit and I regret holding it back. Building and Painting was fun. I didn't have any major issues while building, since it all fit together well, and nubs were small.
The kit doesn't have to be painted to look good, however I do recommend painting the gold part at least. Sticker is stickers and I didn't see any water slide decals, so it will do. This kit gets my thumbs up.
